Well, their job is on their own risk. Two of the three presenters of Top Gear recently lost their driver's license in France, where they went playing with some fast cars. The gentlemen were caught while driving over 50 kilometers per hour too fast, which means the Gendarmes claimed their driver's licenses, just like in the UK. The gentlemen aren't allowed to drive in France for the coming three months.
Next to the demand of their license they have to pay a big fine which, according to their own sources, emptied their wallets. The location were they got caught had road works going on, so only 90 kph was allowed on the road where 130 kph is the normal topspeed. A case of bad luck? For the gentlemen this is a good reason to say that it's better to do speeding in countries outside France.
