This past weekend? One for the books. What an insane time we had in Como! Before we dive into all the jaw-dropping action at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and FuoriConcorso, let’s rewind to how it all started, with the perfect kickoff.
Together with Esser Automotive, the official Koenigsegg dealer from Germany, we hit the streets for an epic drive through the city, leading up to a truly unforgettable photoshoot with none other than the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack.
We made an early stop at a viewpoint that already had us gasping, but we weren’t done yet, we were on the hunt for something even better. That’s when TheRealAbd came through and found an absolute dream location. Huge shoutout to the gentleman who gave us access to this stunning spot, it was the kind of location you just can’t plan for.
Just look at the setup: a beautifully textured stone parking lot, a house nestled into lush greenery with bushes and palms all around, and behind it all? That iconic Lake Como backdrop, with the mountains rising dramatically in the distance. Perfection for showcasing one of the most extreme hypercars ever made.
Meet the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack: Sweden’s ultimate hypercar
This isn’t just any car. The Jesko is named after the father of Christian von Koenigsegg, an incredibly personal and fitting tribute from a man who's redefined the hypercar game more than once.
Underneath its sculpted body lies a heavily reengineered 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 1280 hp on standard gasoline, and an eye-watering 1600 hp when running on E85 biofuel. That power alone is enough to drop jaws, but Koenigsegg didn’t stop there.
Paired to this monster V8 is the Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST), a revolutionary 9-speed transmission that’s unlike anything else on the market today.
Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission: Welcome to the future
The LST isn’t just a cool name. It’s a groundbreaking system featuring nine forward gears and seven wet, multi-disc clutches packed into one ultra-compact, ultra-lightweight unit.
Gear changes are so fast, they’re virtually seamless, almost instantaneous. That’s thanks to Koenigsegg’s unique setup, where clutches open and close simultaneously. It allows for upward or downward shifts at near light-speed, even between non-adjacent gears, something no conventional dual-clutch system can do.
This isn’t just fast, it completely changes the way we think about performance gearboxes.
SmartWheel and SmartCenter: The digital driving experience
Step into the Jesko, and you’ll see how Koenigsegg has redefined the modern driver interface. Enter SmartWheel, a pair of touchscreens built right into the steering wheel. These aren't gimmicks, they’re thoughtfully placed with haptic feedback, so you don’t need to take your eyes off the road.
With just a tap or a swipe, you control key functions like:
• Audio
• Phone
• Ride height
• Cruise control
Then there’s SmartCluster, a racing-inspired, super compact 5.0-inch screen (108mm x 64.8mm) mounted directly behind the steering wheel. It turns as the wheel turns and delivers every bit of driving data in a crystal-clear, intuitive layout.
Performance meets practicality
Make no mistake, the Jesko Attack is a weapon. Thanks to advanced aerodynamics, it delivers up to 1400 kg of downforce, giving it incredible grip and stability for ludicrous track speeds, both in straight lines and around corners.
But what truly sets the Jesko apart is how it blends all this performance with everyday creature comforts. Despite being engineered for the track, the cabin offers a surprising level of refinement and convenience, making it feel just as much like a grand tourer as a full-blown race car.
From the streets of Como to that epic photoshoot location, the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack gave us a weekend to remember. It’s more than just a hypercar, it’s a bold statement of what’s possible when performance, technology, and passion collide.
Stay tuned, we’ve got so much more coming from Villa d’Este and FuoriConcorso. But for now? Let’s just take another look at this Swedish masterpiece.
