Varied wrap on the GT2 RS

Whether one likes it or not, that's up for debate. One thing is for sure: it adds some much-needed variety to the monotonous daily routine of street traffic. A bit of color can't hurt, and the wrapping can always be removed later...

This impressive piece was spotted in Puyallup. It was parked in a way that allowed the photographer to calmly take colorful photos. The GT2 RS is undoubtedly the standout car in the 911 series.

Originally developed in 1995 to meet motorsport homologation requirements, the first 911 GT2 was based on the then-available 911 Turbo. The following generations followed in 2000 and 2007. In 2010, Porsche introduced the first Porsche 911 GT2 RS as an even more powerful and motorsport-oriented variant. However, all 911 GT2 vehicles share some characteristics: turbocharged engines with significantly increased power, motorsport suspension, high-performance brakes, and rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive.

In the 991 GT2 RS, the 3.8-liter engine from the 911 Turbo secures its place among high-performance engines. As a reminder, the 3.8-liter boxer engine, introduced in 2009, compresses its intake air through two variable geometry turbochargers (VTG turbochargers). Porsche was the first manufacturer to implement this technology in a gasoline engine. The engineers at Porsche have now developed the engine to produce a staggering 515 kW (700 PS) from its original output of 368 kW (500 PS) - an increase of 40 percent with the same displacement. With this power, the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS surpasses its predecessor with the 3.6-liter engine by 59 kW (80 PS). The increase in displacement also contributes to an enormous torque of 750 Nm (plus 50 Nm).
