If you hit someone (or someone hits you) you generally have two options. 1. You get out of the car, see how everyone is doing and you leave contact info to take care of possible damages 2. You drive off and hope that’s the end of it. Option two is not to be recommended, especially if you drive a brand new McLaren 720S. This is however the choice the McLaren driver made but there’s a very good reason why…

Let’s make it clear that there are few situations possible where it’s okay to leave the scene of an incident. Apart from the fact that it is most often illegal to do so it’s also not the right thing to do but as mentioned before there are situations in which you practically have no other option. This situation seems fall into that category.

According to eye witness reports the motorcycle driver got angry at the McLaren driver and decided to park her bike in front of the McLaren and demanded the owner of the McLaren to get out of the car. This happened but the owner forgot to put the car in Park so it rolled against the bike, knocking it over. This did not go over well on the hysterical biker who then decided to swing at the McLaren driver, attempting to assault the driver.
In reaction to this the driver decided to get back into the car and drive off to call the police, which is legal under Florida law (where the incident happened).

When we originally posted the video (which can be found right here on our Instagram page) we assumed the McLaren driver was at fault. This was a wrongful assumption after hearing how the story went down. This was an unfortunate mistake which we hope won’t happen again!
