Earlier today we showed you Lamborghini’s Hexagon project. The first sign of life of the Cabrera, as we still name the car. In the Italian magazine Quattroruote.it, we see a few photos which look a lot like the real shots by Lamborghini itself. That’s why we think that, partly because the production of the Gallardo is over, we will see the Cabrera sooner than we first thought. A production stop of more than three months wouldn’t be very logical and maybe even unnecessary.
The first upcoming motor show where we will see Lamborghini is the Detroit Motor Show. Introducing the Cabrera on this show wouldn’t be a very logical decision. The next show after Detroit will be the Geneva Motor Show but this takes more than three months. This seems like a very long time because the production line at Lamborghini’s factory doesn’t need much drastic changes. The E-GEAR and the V10 get a small upgrade but their size won’t change. Next to that, the Cabrera isn’t a complete new car like the Aventador was. The only drastic changes on the Cabrera are the body and the interior. The interior will already be ready and the body is “just” a matter of changing the molds. Lamborghini build an average of 1400 Gallardo’s per year, with a quick calculation this means that they will miss up to 400 cars with a production stop of three months. Every company wants to get the highest profit they can get and that’s not what will happen with such a production stop. That’s why we assume that Lamborghini will build the first copies in January and we will soon see the first copies whether or not with some light camouflage. Besides all this, Asia is a very important market for Lamborghini so maybe they will soon introduce the car in this region. What do you think Lamborghini will do?
