Zurich’s familiar Speedster: A 997 with a history on the streets

It was one of those perfect days in Zurich - clear skies, warm sun, and some seriously cool cars out and about. Parked in the shade behind the trees, a white Porsche 997 Speedster sat low and wide, looking absolutely spot-on with its black and silver Fuchs wheels. The way the sunlight filtered through the branches gave it a cool, almost moody look, with highlights hitting just the right spots.

Right next to it, a dark grey 991 Carrera added a more modern touch to the scene. The two Porsches, side by side, were a perfect mix of old-school and new-school - one a rare collector’s dream, the other a sleek and capable daily driver.

It wasn’t the first time this white 997 Speedster had been spotted in Zurich. This particular car has been seen multiple times around the city, with sightings going back to 2023. But the story gets even more interesting - digging into past archives, the same license plate used to belong to a 991 Carrera 4S MkI, which was also seen in Zurich.

The first recorded sighting of that Carrera 4S? 2013. That means for over a decade, this plate has been on some seriously cool Porsches, evolving from a modern 911 to a rare, collector-status Speedster. It’s always cool to track the history of cars like this, especially in a city like Zurich, where enthusiasts really know how to spec and enjoy their machines.
