Comeback of a lost legend

Comeback of a lost legend

The Zonda Diamante Verde, built in 2017, never really had a proper debut. Shortly after it was completed, the car disappeared somewhere in Switzerland and nobody seemed to know exactly where it had gone. Now, nine years later, it has finally been spotted on public roads in Monaco, wearing license plates for the very first time.

What makes this one off creation so special is its unique paint finish. At first glance, you might think it is simply exposed carbon fiber with a clear coat on top, but that is not entirely true. The carbon itself looks normal, however a very unusual ingredient was added to the finish: diamonds. And not just any diamonds, but rare green diamonds. They were ground into an incredibly fine dust, so when sunlight hits the car, the green sparkle becomes strikingly visible. We do not even want to imagine the cost of such an option, because it must be astronomical. In the shade, however, the effect is far more subtle.

What makes this car even more fascinating is its mysterious history. It was delivered as a one off model in 2017, and then almost completely vanished from the public eye. For years, it remained hidden away in a private collection in Switzerland. Some time later, the car changed hands through a well known Swiss supercar and hypercar dealer and entered another incredible collection, yet it was still never seen on the road. A few years after that, the car suddenly appeared for sale in Germany at the renowned company Mechatronik
And now, the world famous Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso is driving it through the streets of Monaco.
For the very first time, we are finally able to see this magnificent one off in action, and hopefully it will not be the last time.
