Just two days left until the start of the 20th edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed! All British car brands are present to show their latest successes. Jaguar also chips in with the Jaguar Project 7, which is an F-Type-based car with design elements of the old D-Type. It doesn’t only look fast, it also is blistering fast. Jaguar crammed 550 hp in this car, it must be a huge pleasure to drive this car to the limit!
The most significant changes at the exterior are the 'fairing' at the back of the driver, several carbon fiber parts, a new front splitter, side skirts and diffuser. Also the windshield is cutted off at the top and there’s a completely restyled front bumper. In the interior, something rather remarkable is going on. Jaguar decided not to mount a passenger’s seat in the Project 7. With that, it has become a proper single seater, with four point seat belt harness. The V8 with a Supercharger now boosts 550 hp and 680 Nm to the rear wheels, with that amount of power, the Project 7 goes from zero to hundred kph in 4.2 seconds and on to a limited topspeed of 300 kph. Where did we see that before? Yes, the XKR-S has got the same engine performance but uses 0.2 seconds extra to hit hundred kph. The Project 7 won’t be produced. The 7 in the name refers to the seven times Jaguar won Le Mans. Jaguar did a good job with this car, especially when you realize this car is built from scratch to a driving car in only four months.
