Name 'GT' revives with Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is already four years in production. Lamborghini will definitely add another four years of production. The life of the Aventador proceeds a bit different than its predecessor and that's quite a surprise. Customers are really looking forward to the ultimate Aventador but this time the car won't get the name SuperVeloce.

In Geneva we've already seen the Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce. The reactions on this new model are spread. A lot of people expected the SuperVeloce to be a successor of the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. That's not the case and the supercars isn't as aggressive as expected.

As opposed to what happened with the Murciélago, the SuperVeloce Aventador isn't limited. Lamborghini also didn't get the maximum power out of the supercar. In an interview with Lamborghini's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, he already said there are plenty of ideas to stretch the lifecycle of the Aventador. According to an insider of TeamSpeed, who gave us more excellent information before, Lamborghini will come up with a more hardcore Lamborghini but just not yet. He says the hardcore model will get the name GT.

Back in 1999, Lamborghini showed the ultimate Diablo at the Geneva Motor Show, the GT. With rear-wheel drive and extremely sporty looks, this is an untamed bull from Sant'Agata Bolognese. The production was limited to only 80 copies of which a handful copies found their way to Autogespot. The GT actually is a street legal racing car. Lamborghini used for the development several components from the GT2 racing model. When Lamborghini will make the Aventador GT just as exciting as their last GT, we're looking forward to a very special car!
