French Racing Blue is the colour of the car I have had a photoshoot with on Wednesday morning. The subject? A Jaguar XK at its best, the XKR-S. This blue beast has 550 bhp! The car gets this power from a five liter V8, helped by a compressor. Despite the fact that this is the stripped version of the XKR, the car is still heavy with its 1750 kilograms. Nevertheless, the V8 can handle this weight, you get to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and this continues until you reach 300 km/h. You can feel the power in the car when you start it. Foot on the brake and you can push the start button. With a dark roar and some vibration, you can feel the car come to life. You immediately know that you do not to mess with this car.
You have quite some space in this car, a big trunk, and a thousand settings for your seat. Yet, the seats in the back of the car cannot really be called seats. This is a well-known problem with sports cars. Before I could get to the backseat for some interior shots, the frontseat had to go all the way to the front before I could sit. Something else that drew my attention were the badges in the interior and the coloured stitches which perfectly matched the exterior. Black seats with blue stitching looks really beautiful! In the doors I found some coating that looked like carbon fiber. This is all done to make you realize you are not in a normal XK. Despite being the hardcore version, it displays a lot of luxury: air-conditioning, electric seats, a Bowers & Wilkins Premium Sound System of 525 Watt, electric mirrors and a lot more.
