Porsche 991 GT3 RS will come in 2014

The Porsche 991 GT3 which was introduced in Geneva, is a gift from heaven according to Porsche fanatics. But the 991 GT3 isn’t the last car of this series, the 991 GT3 RS is still to come according to CarMagazine.co.uk. It will be presented next year!

In an interview with Andreas Preuninger, the director behind the GT-models, it’s clear that a more sporty model is still to come. First, the 991 Turbo will be revealed within a few months and after that, it’s time for the even more sporty 991 GT3 RS to show its talent. We guess that the car will be introduced in Geneva, next year. The IAA in Frankfurt or the Shanghai Motor Show will have other scoops from Porsche, probably the new Panamera or 991 Turbo.

Still, not everyone will agree that Porsche doesn’t offer the manual gearbox on the GT3 any longer. Though, according to Preuninger, the PDK-gearbox is way better for sporty driving and it gives you a better involvement in the car. Next to that, the steering is just as good as it was on the last 997 GT3 RS 4.0. Important for the development of the new GT3 RS is the character of the current GT3. This car can be used daily. This gives the company more options to make the RS model more hardcore and this will probably happen. The looks will be more racy and the car will again have a big rear spoiler. They will also use a lot of carbon fiber to make the car lose some weight. The GT3 is already 200 kilograms lighter thanks to the use of carbon fiber. So the GT3 RS will probably weigh an extra 100 kilograms less. Just one year, than we know more details about this street racer. But first, we have to prepare ourselves for the introduction of the 991 Turbo.
