Pushing limits: The new Aston Martin DBX S

Aston Martin is certainly not standing still. New models are coming at us left and right, and here we have the latest update on the SUV from the British brand. Are you ready to take a look at the new Aston Martin DBX S?

The DBX S continues a long tradition where Aston Martin uses the suffix 'S' to denote a special, high-performance version of an existing model; the first was the Vanquish S, which made its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2004. The DBX S proves that lighter variants with more power and performance are still a key part of Aston Martin's lineup and appears to continue a line of striking, high-performance models.

At the heart of the new DBX S is an enhanced version of the acclaimed Aston Martin 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Utilizing turbo technology directly derived from the upcoming Valhalla supercar, including larger compressor wheel diameters and other internal improvements, power is increased by an additional 20 hp to 727 hp, providing even more thrust at higher revs, making the DBX S's performance even more memorable. Accompanying these V8 enhancements is a new exhaust system that further accentuates the potential of the V8!

The DBX S has also shed weight, with the most significant reduction achieved in the roof area. The optional carbon fiber roof features a beautifully single-piece woven pattern, which at nearly three square meters is by far the largest carbon element ever fitted to an Aston Martin. Specifications of the carbon fiber roof include removing the roof rails, which not only saves 18 kg of mass but also lowers the center of gravity, further enhancing both stability and agility.

Visually, Aston Martin's design team has ensured that anyone seeing the DBX S will have no doubt it's the most sporty, dynamic, and fascinating ultra-luxury SUV on the market. At the front, the new DBX S is instantly recognizable by its black grille with slats, giving this edition a commanding presence on the road. The lightweight polycarbonate grille with honeycomb design, inspired by the DBS 770 Ultimate, is also available as an option. A new splitter and diffuser enhance the car's assertive appearance, along with the distinctive wrap-around daytime running light design.

The DBX S is available for order now and is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2025.
