The Autogespot Tour is on its way! After the great success of the first Autogespot Tour to the Nürburgring, the second tour started yesterday in the heart of the Belgian town of Antwerp. With almost 30 sports-and-super-cars of many brands a very impressive group of cars set course towards the southern part of Germany. Today we drive with a group of cars to Interlaken.
Yesterday morning an impressive selection of cars met at Colman Antwerp. Colman is a great jeweler that has recently finished a big renovation. The jeweler has many brands to offer, from Breathings to Parmigiani. After a short breakfast the engines were warmed up around 10am and residents of Antwerp were awoken in the best way imaginable, the sound of V6es, V8s and even some V12s. The Autogespot Tour is focussed on a nice tour, without the character of a rally or race. However, just outside the Ring of Antwerp it was clear that multiple participants were in a good mood. The biggest disappointment was the widely announced Blitz Marathon in Europe. In Germany there were 7000 police officers on patrol to bring attention to speeding with radar guns. Naturally we couldn't get the pedal to the metal on every road, but where possible the magical 300km/h (186mph) was reached. We became heavily impressed by the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, our car for the next days. Fully loaded with four passengers and many bags and other gear this car got to 300km/h without any problems (in Germany of course!). Even the more sporty cars like the Ferrari FF and the Porsche 991 GT3 had a challenge to keep up with this power-wagon! After an intense first 500 kilometers it was time for some food and drinks at VOS Cars in Neckarwestheim. The engines got some time to cool down to be able to finish the last 250 kilometers of todays journey. The participants could leave a very busy day on the German Autobahn behind them on the last piece of empty Autobahn. With some challenging curvy roads the participants arrived after an intensive first day of driving at the Lindner Parkhotel in Oberstaufen. After dinner there were many big stories from a great first day.
