Also the new and brutal SRT Viper is present on the Chicago Motor Show. Together with the new Corvette Stingray this is the new standard for American sportcars. This is a properly brutal only the Americans can build. It’s no forgiving supercar, you will have to control it with rolled up sleeves.
At the moment all car manufacterers are downsizing, in the meanwhile the SRT Viper simply comes with the opposite. SRT chose for the good old V10-engine which is 8.4 liters big which produces 640 bhp and 814 Newtonmeters, so this is serious business. As it is meant to be a driver’s car, this car comes with a traditional manual gearbox with only six speeds. Despite the slightly old-fashioned techniques the performance are just impressing. In just three seconds it is possible to hit hundred kilometers per hour, it’s hard to do like you probably saw in the last episode of Top Gear, but it’s surely possible. The topspeed is 330 kilometers per hour.
SRT offers the Viper in two specs. The Viper and the Viper GTS. People who mark the Viper GTS on the order-form will get a car which is better to use on the track. The exterior will come in just six colour with very exciting names, such as Venom Black, Bright White, Gunmetal Pearl, Race Yellow and Shadow Blue Pearl. The price of all this excitement starts at $97,395 for the Viper and $120,395 2013 SRT Viper GTS. The European prices are unreleased yet, but we think they will be announced soon.
