Beautiful Harley motors, Corvettes and of course Dodge! As we said we didn’t only visit Pietersen for a cup of coffee. The Dodge Ram 1500 2014 was ready for us!
The Dodge Ram 1500 isn’t a very popular car and when you see one they’re probably covered in mud. That says a lot about this car. It’s a true beast which is often used by contractors and supervisors in the construction industry. Its enormous trunk, big interior and imposing looks are a big advantage. We didn’t mention the biggest advantage yet, the price. For just less than 40.000 euros you can take this Dodge Ram 1500 home. A price for which you can’t buy one of the competitors like a Volkswagen Transporter or Mercedes-Benz Vito. Another big advantage is the 5.7 liters V8 which produces 395 hp and runs on LPG, a big advantage at the petrol station. You won’t have a power shortage with this Ram 1500. The acceleration can feel a bit slow but when you Floor the pedal you’ll easily reach illegal speeds. That can be quite dangerous with a tank like this car but luckily the cars has a great set of brakes!
Nowadays, the Dodge Ram doesn’t even loose space in its trunk because of the LPG tank. The tank is mounted under the trunk. This makes it an ideal car for a skiing trip. Skis in the trunk, fill up the LPG tank and head out with the Ram! When you drive economic the range of the car is quite big but when you increase the speed the car can use a lot of fuel due to the fact that the car is not aerodynamic at all.
A small disadvantage of the car are its enormous measures. The car is 5.9 meters long and two meters wide. You can’t park in a normal parking space. The nose or back of the car will always stand out of the parking spot. A big advantage of the imposing looks of the car is the fact that everybody will get out of your way when you’re driving this car. The entire nose fills up your rear view mirror and that’s quite terrifying.
The interior of the Ram 1500 with a double cabin is really great. The seats are really American. They’re big, offer a lot of comfort but aren’t really supporting. But you won’t need that in this car because you won’t race this car through corners. This is a car to cruise on the highway to your next job. The multimedia system works perfect and Alpine guarantees perfect acoustics. All possible connections are present such as connection for an iPhone, USB-stick and AUX. The system can be used very easily and logical.
Is the Dodge Ram a great car for cruising? Yes, definitely when you’ve planned a long ride. It’s not so great for city centers. In the small streets it will feel like you’re driving a bus. But the car is ideal for a holiday with four persons or when you just need a lot of space. The car isn’t as comfortable as a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Benz S-Class but it’s definitely comfortable!
