Some cars are only exclusive because of their exquisite design. Others are exclusive because they’re fast. The RUF RT12 is a car which belongs in the last category, because this is a proper racer! In Salzburg, the following model was spotted, which looks cool in its black and white outfit. What’s the experience of the driver when driving this RUF?
Mainly, you will enjoy some awesome moments. With 641 bhp from the same six-cylinder as the normal model you can hit hundred kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds. The 641 bhp is gained by mounting two big turbos to the 3.8 liter ‘flat six’. For that, not only turbos are needed, but also a lot of (cooling) air for these turbos, that’s why there are two extra air intakes at the cars hips. RUF’s idea behind this car was building a car which gave an even more extreme driving-experience than the Porsche 997 Turbo and GT2. Changing gear will be done the old-fashioned way, with a manual gearbox. Of course you won’t drive the car to the limit that often, but the idea how far away that limit is, gives you a kick already!
