Two modern-day classics spotted together

Sydney is a city full of hidden treasures, and adventurer Cel seems to find a lot of them. Also this time he found two treasures, an Aston Martin Vanquis S and DBS, standing next to each other. Can we see a duo which will become really wanted classics in the future? This could be possible, because they’re both very unique cars with character!

The Aston Martin Vanquish S gained a lot of fans thanks to his participation in the James Bond-move Die Another Day, where it was named Vanish. I think we don’t have to explain why the car was called that way. Next to that the simple, clean but stylish look was a direct hit. The long nose with the typical Aston Martin-grill will stay on our retina’s for a long time, it’s a real beauty.

What makes the DBS different in terms of design? When the Vanquish and DBS are next to each other you will see that the DBS seperates itself by details only. Take a look at the lines of the back or how the small side window tavers upwards. You can even say that the DBS is a more modern version of the Vanquish when it comes to design. Also the front looks very similar to the one of the Vanquish. They both have the recognizable grille, with an extra air intake below that for extra cooling. The shapes of the grilles are even almost identical!

The remarkable thing is that they both got almost the same performance. The Vanquish S even has got slightly more power than the DBS, 528 against 517 bhp. Also the amount of Newtonmeters is higher, with a World-shocking seven Newtonmeters more. But does this make the Vanquish S faster? No, because Aston Martin chose for a faster acceleration instead of a higher topspeed. In 4.3 seconds the DBS will sprint to hundred kilometers per hour, where the Vanquish, the small point in your rearview mirror, will take 4.8 seconds. After all the Vanquish still wins, because it will overtake the DBS which does only 307 kilometers per hour, the Vanquish S can go on to 321 kilometers per hour as a maximum.

After all these are all just relative numbers, on paper. With cars like this it’s more about emotion than rough performance. Which of this beautiful duo engenders the most reactions at you?
