We drive through Rotterdam with a beautiful noise from the exhausts. The V8 with double turbo just reached the perfect temperature and every now and then you hear a big pop from the engine. This even scares some of the people on the streets and they all watch the BMW M6 Convertible F12 pass by. Everybody seems to love the car, not even knowing that the V8 in the front is a real monster. We demonstrate this by speeding away.

With the top down, the M6 is at its best. The black top is only placed for the functionality when it’s raining. Also in the winter you can driver around with the top down. Definitely when the V8 is warmed up, the car has no trouble at all to heat the cabin of the car. We already imagine us driving the car and we haven’t even taken a look at the interior. The interior is typical BMW. The 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series all have the same dashboard with only small differences. The first thing that stands out is the gigantic screen in the middle. It is a perfect screen to give you all the information you need. When you look a bit further down, you’ll see the buttons for the air-conditioning, seat heating and radio. Even further down you’ll see the buttons for the settings of the gearbox. Near these buttons we find the gear lever. When you step in this M6 for the first time you can’t imagine what fun this thing can give you. Next to the lever we find the buttons for the DSC-system, the steering modus and the button for the setting of the undercarriage. Time to lay our hands on the steering wheel!

Time to start the car and let the V8 which produces 560 bhp and 680 Nm of torque do its work. We put the lever in Drive modus and the seven speed gearbox is ready to do its job. The seven gears make the car very easy and comfortable to drive. Only when the pedal is floored, the car really becomes a monster. Thanks to the turbos the car is really fast when you floor the pedal. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Thanks to all the safety systems, the car keeps driving in a straight line. Until you switch them all off. That’s the moment the real fun starts. On a wet road the back of the car steps aside very easily. Sometimes this also happens when you brake hard for a corner. The car weighs just a bit more than 2000 kilograms and that’s why we would advise you to choose for the optional ceramic brakes, just to make sure you can brake hard enough for the next corner.

The weight of the M6 Convertible doesn’t affect the driving experience. The 20 inch alloy wheels make it able to drive the corners very precise. This is also because of the feeling BMW gives you through the steering wheel. This is something you can change just the way you want it to be. The Sport modus is the best setting if you want to have some fun with the car. Let the top down, put it on Sport mode and you’ll definitely have some fun!

Than there’s the moment where we have to make a crucial decision. It the BMW M6 worth the money? As a daily driver or as a third or fourth car. The car is definitely worth its money! Although it is a lot of money of course, this version costs 183.171 Euros. The most expensive version is the one with the entire leather interior. That’s a choice you have to make. The finish of the interior is very, very good, it gives an amazing feeling to sit in this car. The M6 Convertible is a car that draws a lot of attention, because of it looks but also because of its sound!
