It’s back! The V8 twinturbo which produces 560 hp and 680 Nm of torque! We already know the engine from the BMW M5 and M6 Cabriolet but the BMW M6 Gran Coupé has the same engine. The M6 Gran Coupé is one of the most beautiful coupés of this moment. With that said, we can easily discuss the rest of this stunning car!

One of the first performances of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé took place during the MotoGP in Qatar. The M6 got a safety car outfit and had to keep the bikers behind him. From that day, I started to fall in love with the design of the Gran Coupé. The car has something magical, maybe it’s the beautiful and long line of the roof. Next to that, the car has a beautiful back with four big exhausts which make a lovely sound. That Mercedes-Benz is jealous on the back of the M6 can be seen at the design of the S-Class Coupé Concept. This concept looks a lot like the M6, from far and in the dark it will be quite hard to recognize the car.

The M6 is painted in Frozen Silver Metallic, a beautiful and outstanding but still solid colour. The combination with the interior creates a beautiful contrast. The colour of the interior is an Individual colour and is named BMW Individual Cohibabraun. The BMW Individual interior frames in Pianolack and the alcantara roof complete the interior. In the previous driving test with the M6, we already told you that most of the BMW interiors look like each other. But with the interior of this M6 Gran Coupé, we have to take back our words, this interior looks just perfect. It fits perfectly with the Gran Coupé! The seats are just like every other BMW. They are very good and adjustable. The passengers in the back have nothing to complain about as longs as they aren’t too long. Because of the sloping roofline, their heads will touch the roof earlier.

As driver of the M6, you’ll get all the information you need. The big screen in the center console shows you all the information and this screen also serves as navigation system. Next to that, you can connect your phone and save all your contacts in the computer of the M6 to make a call without any problems. When you can’t use the big screen for your navigation you can always choose to show this in the head-up display worth €1.483,-. This makes it possible to let your passenger adjust the music while you still drive in the right direction.

The M6 Gran Coupé weighs 1955 kilograms. The M6 Cabriolet weighs a bit more with a weight of 2000 kilograms. Probably you won’t notice this difference of 100 kilograms but it does make the M6 Gran Coupé sprint to 100 kph in 4.2 seconds while the M6 Cabriolet needs 4.3 seconds. The top speed of the M6 Gran Coupé is 305 kph! When you don’t want to worry about braking you can choose for the optional ceramic brakes which cost an extra €10.000,-. These brakes will make sure that you’ll stop within a few seconds.

We already know the engine in the front. It’s still a great engine and thanks to the double turbo, the engine produces quite a lot of torque on a low rpm. Although the M6 Gran Coupé might look big and oaf, once you take place behind the steering wheel you won’t notice this anymore. The undercarriage is perfectly balanced and is easily adjustable tanks to all the buttons next to the DCT lever. Blasting through corners isn’t a problem for the M6 Gran Coupé. It isn’t hard to make a small drift, especially not with this much torque and the great turbos.

Another new option which we also demonstrate in the movie is BMW Apps. When you forgot where you parked your car on a dark parking lot you can flash the car’s lights via its connection with BMW Apps. You can also control the heating of the car with BMW Apps. These functions are things we will probably also see on other cars in the near future.

The standard price of the Gran Coupé is €158.499,- but that’s completely without options. The version we drove costs €201.407,-. But the version we drove is almost full option and this car will bring you wherever you want to go in a very luxurious way. Some options on this M6 Gran Coupé are Night Vision and person recognition worth €2.349,- and a Bang & Olufsen High End Surround Sound worth €5.285,-. The most expensive option is the BMW Individual full leather interior worth €8.189,-. Next to that, there are some other options that increase the price of this car. Some of them can’t be missed in a luxurious car like this one!
