Although the McLaren P1 is already very brutal and revolutionary, FAB Design thinks they can make the car even better. To demonstrate this they brought their own version of the P1 the Geneva Motor Show. They fitted the car in a carbon fiber bodywork which is painted in an outstanding paint. Does this tuning by FAB Design improve the P1?
According to FAB they improved the aerodynamics of the McLaren P1. We think that the aerodynamics of the P1 were already quite good but the additions to the engine compartment have to create a better airflow. The extra spoiler on top of the rear spoiler has to create more downforce and more stability at high speeds. The nice thing about this version is that all components can be added or removed without leaving any traces.
The carbon fiber wheels are made out of one piece and weigh 40 percent less than the normal aluminum wheels. It makes the car look better although you can wonder if so much shiny carbon fiber won’t affect the clinical but high-tech looks of the McLaren P1.
