This year will be a successful one for Maserati. The current models are sold a lot and the Quattroporte and Ghibli can’t be missed in Frankfurt. The Ghibli is spotted regularly, but those who haven’t met the sporty sedan yet, can meet the car in Frankfurt.
The Ghibli is available with two V6 turbo gasoline engines with a different amount of power. Both models are also available with rear- as well as four-wheel drive. The Ghibli will also be available with a the first diesel engine ever in Maserati’s history. The turbodiesel 3.0 liters V6, developed by the technicians of Maserati, led by the former chief engineer of Ferrari, Paolo Martinelli, will have the usaual high-performance and sound of a Maserati. Next to that, this engine will use less than six liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.
The most powerful V6 will be the twinturbo engine in the GhibliS, with a power of 410 hp and 550 Nm of torque. This engine is available in the rear-wheel driven Ghibli S and the four-wheel driven Ghibli S Q4. The four-wheel driven Ghibli S Q4 reaches 100 kph in just 4.8 seconds, while the rear-wheel drive version needs an extra 0.2 seconds. The Ghibli S has a top speed of 285 kph which is exactly 1 kph faster than the Ghibli S Q4. The other V6 produces ‘only’ 330 hp and makes a sprint to 100 kph last more than five seconds.
