Electric traction is totally fancy on the conceptcars at Villa d’Este! Also the sexy conceptmodel of BMW, the i8 has to be confronted with it. Not a massive V8 in the front, but a combination of an electric engine with a three-cilinder petrol engine care for the needed amount of horsepower. You get 393 bhp at your disposal, which makes that you can sprint to 60 miles per hour in just less than five seconds. So far this concept is to be seen shining at the Como lake!
The BMW i8 will come, that is for sure. The only question is when and how will the design look like? The conceptcar as at Villa d’Este seems to be quite futuristic. Justified, because the complete technique of BMW is futuristic. We haven’t seen the combination of an electric engine and a three-cilinder petrol engine before yet. Furthermore, this three-cilinder petrol engine delivers 223 bhp, so in the future we shouldn’t be amazed when BMWs are going to be produced with this engine in the front. We can also expect more i-models from BMW, although it will take some more time before we can see this one. The i8 however shows already what is possible!
