2,900 km of adventure: Exploring Dutch and German automotive culture
Dec 25, 2024, 9:11 AM Merry Christmas! Or as I like to say, Merry Chrysler. At the end of November and early December, I embarked on my own Gumball 3000, covering nearly 2,900 km across Europe. Starting in Switzerland, I made my way to Stuttgart, where I visited the Porsche Museum and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. From there, I made a quick stop at the Nürburgring before heading to Esser Automotive and onward to Amsterdam.

However, spotter Dima managed to capture this car on public grounds in Stockholm. According to Dima himself, this is the best spot he has ever made, and it’s easy to see why. A car usually only seen on racetracks making an appearance on the street is truly something special.

He must have spent no less than €1,000,000 to buy himself an Aston Martin V12 Speedster. Driving it around in winter is truly brave, considering that, as we all know, this Speedster has neither a roof nor a windshield. So, one should dress warmly.

Don’t get me wrong, the newer R8 versions are fantastic, but this one has a unique charm. It’s not just the stunning 5.2-liter V10 engine that sets it apart, but also its factory-fitted wing and its exclusivity - limited to only 333 units worldwide. Each car features a unique plaque on the gear selector, proudly displaying its production number.
